Chicken florentine soup also makes a great freezer meal. Combine the ingredients except for the potatoes, carrots, cream cheese, cheese and spinach. Place the soup mix in an airtight freezer safe container. Store for 4-6 months.

Chicken Florentine Soup Recipe Olive Garden



Heat the olive oil in a large heavy-bottomed soup pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion, dried basil, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes, to taste; mix well and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic then cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Slowly add the vegetable (or chicken) broth and the canned tomatoes. Stir, crushing the tomatoes with the back of your spoon, until well combined. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover with a lid, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30-45 minutes, or until the veggies are very tender.


2. In the meanwhile, pat the chicken breast dry with paper towels. Sprinkle each breast liberally with salt and pepper on all sides. Dredge them in the flour, and shake off any excess. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it is shimmering. Add the chicken breasts to the pan in a single layer. Pan-fry them until they are golden-brown on both sides and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer them to a plate while you prepare the rest of the dish.


I made this recipe last week for the first time. I substituted a few things to make it a bit healthier: butter with avocado oil, milk with soy milk, chicken broth with bone broth, and store-bought linguine with homemade wholewheat spaghetti.

And I have leftovers for lunch this week. Note: first time cooking with artichoke hearts so was a bit concerned. This recipe made it so easy.

Great recipe! Substituted andouille sausage and beef broth for the shredded chicken and chicken broth. Then used Fairfield (lactose free) milk and butter (mixed together) instead of cream. Came out awesome. Definitely will be making again.


My family loved this soup! I added an 8 oz package of cream cheese and some shredded parmesan cheese to the recipe to make it more creamier! Even made a double batch and it went quickly! Did not use artichokes, but know they would be good in it!
